Terms and Conditions
If you want to start working with us, you have to know what our working policies, pricing structure and project terms are. Before leaping right into things, take a look around at what information you must first gather or provide so you can be fully aware of your working environment i.e working with M9fx. Because projects are often assigned with very little time in hand and as we work together, unnecessary situations may occur which can slow down the progress of the work or create a delay in completing the project. So lets have a discussion on our deliverables and your acceptance.
QUOTATION:
We will provide a basic quote at no charge. But detailed project concepts and elaborate proposals will incur a charge, approved by you in writing in advance.
PRICING:
Check our prices before you ask for a quote, it will save both of our time. We will provide value for your money, but please do not compare our price with others, as we don’t have answer to that.
We do not work for “FREE” for anyone.
We can not give cheap rates as we do not deliver cheap jobs.
Please consider we cannot negotiate in all three elements; speed, quality and price in one project. But yes! you can choose any two, so please make your own choice before we start.
We charge by the job, not by the hour for most of the projects. It is very difficult to provide an hourly estimate for all creative jobs, as we can not quote you for the thoughts we get in the tub. Instead, you will always get a firm written quote for a project before any work commences.
There will never be any additional charges unless they are authorized in advance and supported by an estimate for additional work and charges signed by the client/authorized by the client by email. Similarly no additional work or changes will be entertained after the project is started, any addition/changes can incur extra cost.
CREDIT & PAYMENT TERMS:
All jobs require a 50% advance (no exceptions) on commencement and the balance is due before/upon (varies per project, will be noted on quotation) delivery of the completed project.
We cannot and will not proceed without your deposit and authorization in writing (written work order is a must). This could be either a signed back copy of our quote, a purchase order or a letter/email of authorization for all projects and includes a 50% payment deposit. The person authorizing a job is declaring that he or she is a signing officer of the firm and authorized to make such agreements and that the firm will honor the agreement.
Final artwork/job will only be released to the client upon receipt of and bank clearance (cheque payments/ wire transfer) of the final payment in full. This means the payment should be made by bank cheque/ paypal/ credit card or wire transfer direct to our account. Check out all the payment methods available with us.
Credit cards may only be accepted for certain cases and jobs only, specifically for abroad clients i.e clients outside India.
In any event, final payment is due 7 days after invoice. There can be no exceptions to this requirement.
Legitimate delays can be negotiated. We can understand that you may have a boss or a committee to discuss with, getting approvals and all. But it should not be a month.
DISCOUNTS:
We often get asked for discounts because “there will be a lot of work in the future.” Fine. But if you are a new client we will discuss discounts in the future.
In the meantime, we’ll do the first 2 projects at the normal rate which our other clients pay. So lets do two projects together!
MINIMUM BILLING:
We find it necessary to charge a minimum of $30.00 or Rs.1200 (for India only) for any job and here is why…
a project could be small and may consume small time, but closing an existing job, starting new one, making up new mindset, doing a original work and then closing it successfully, takes that minimum man/hour.
Copy writer / Author’s changes are extra, however you will always be advised of any changes involving additional costs in advance. All free revisions (if any mentioned on work order) must be requested within 7 days of receipt of copy. Corrections and revisions are free of charge unless the requested revision is based on a change in the project that is made after the copy(text) is submitted. These are classified as author’s changes and are billable.
COPYRIGHTS:
Nothing we do is ever to be considered “work for hire.” All copyrights for any design/art work remain with m9fx unless other arrangements are made in advance.
Title and any rights to any and all the commercial work we create does not pass to the client until all accounts are paid in full. No exceptions, unless in hard copy, written form, signed and agreed in advance. Stock photography, Fonts or anything purchased for your project are for your account. We can provide a list and a source for the required material, but we do not finance the purchase of rights. Clients are required to purchase these rights on their own behalf.
THIRD PARTY CHARGES:
Some projects may require third party software or customized script or other services, these will be billed as third party charges and will be mentioned to the client beforehand.
CHANGES:
All changes must be notified within the specified time-frame for that project. This is to prevent projects from dragging on and on. If this happens it actually increases our work substantially as we have to reconstruct our think process and all the steps done earlier. It is advised to start and finish a project quickly(do not read in-rush) for a compact successful project.
We are stating our working policies as simply and openly as possible, to avoid future misunderstandings. We believe you will also do the same.
